Layering Methods for Adhesive and HTV
July 24, 2019
With internet connection issues and after several failed attempts, we were finally successful getting this Craft Live off the ground! You guys had so much patience, and this episode was worth the wait.
In this Craft Live episode, Mandy and JJ create two projects using layering techniques. They also show us how to use registration boxes in Silhouette Studio to make adhesive layering easier.
Our Heart and Hustle design was made into a framed chalkboard piece. Products used in this project:
Heart and Hustle SVG Download
Chalk Couture Aiden Chalkboard 12×18″
Oracal 651 Adhesive Vinyl – Lilac. You can find this in both 12×12″ and 12×24″ options.
Cloudy – Purple Adhesive Vinyl
Clear Transfer Tape
The font used in this design is Phosphate.
For our HTV “Go with the flow” tank top project, we used two solid colors and one pattern:
Go With the Flow SVG Download
Siser Liquid Gold (this was a limited color that our box members were treated to!)
Siser EasyWeed – Teal
Happy Dance – Blue
Mandy shared tips on how to avoid shrinkage issues when layering heat transfer vinyl. We also learned when to mirror and when not to mirror our HTV for cutting.
This Live presentation was part of our SparkleBerry Ink Subscription Box Program. Each month, we create six to eight SVG designs, then choose matching vinyls for them. These all come together in creatinig our amazing boxes, and then we bring you 6-8 projects using the contents. Our boxes come packed with gorgeous, eye-popping patterns and solids, all at a savings of at least 20 percent. As an added bonus, we include a free gift with every box.
